Gov. Kim Reynolds Presents 2026 Governor’s Quality Award to Fellowship Village
Fellowship Village of Inwood was honored as the recipient of the second Governor’s Quality Award for Health Care Facilities of 2026 when Gov. Kim Reynolds presented the award to Administrator Emily Jones during an onsite ceremony on Sept. 9.
Westview Care Center of Britt was presented with the first award for 2026 on Aug. 25.
The Governor’s Quality Award recognizes health care facilities that demonstrate exceptional care and a commitment to resident well-being. Fellowship Village, located at 300 E. Jefferson St. in Inwood, possesses many attributes that warrant consideration for this award, including a culture focused on its residents; high staffing ratios and low staff turnover; strong leadership; holistic services; and a homelike environment. The home was nominated twice for the award.
The family of one resident who nominated Fellowship Village said, “Activities abound for the residents from special outings, spa days, monthly birthdays, bingo, holiday parties, and the list goes on. It's about living out your best life even though things may be hard.”
Another nominator commented, “When my mother's siblings come from Illinois to visit, they make the comment each time [that] this is such a nice facility, and you really don't even know you are entering a nursing home by the environment this facility presents to you.”
Residents said: “Staff are always willing to help," and, “We’re all like family here.”
Key factors contributing to this recognition include:
- Operational Excellence: The home maintains a notable 3% staff turnover rate and has a tenured leadership team. Four staff have worked there since the facility opened in 1989, or shortly thereafter.
- Innovative Resident Care: Fellowship Village uses advanced technology such as the "Tovertafel" — which is Dutch for “magic table” — to support seniors living with dementia, and maintains a resident-centered philosophy where staff make each resident feel special every day.
- Community Integration: The residents benefit from strong community support, including grants from local businesses, active volunteer participation, and the home’s status as a community-owned facility since it opened.
Fellowship Village is a 40-bed facility that provides a variety of amenities, including a spacious hospice room, an activity area, and convenient proximity to a medical clinic and local school.
