Planetcast Acquires BroadStream, Adding Integrated Playout and Accessibility Products to Global Media Services

BroadStream will anchor a new Products Division, combining integrated playout, captioning, subtitling and workflow technology with Planetcast’s global media services and distribution infrastructure.

AMSTERDAM, Sept. 11, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Planetcast, a global leader in media services and technology, today announced the acquisition of BroadStream Solutions, a global provider of integrated playout, captioning, subtitling and broadcast workflow solutions. BroadStream will anchor Planetcast’s newly established Products Division, adding proven software capabilities across integrated playout, time-delay and accessibility workflows. The acquisition brings these capabilities together with Planetcast’s global media services and distribution infrastructure, enabling content owners and broadcasters to build and operate linear, streaming and hybrid media workflows more efficiently.

“BroadStream is a natural fit for Planetcast as we expand our product capabilities alongside our global services business,” said Sanjay Bhatt, CEO, Planetcast. “This acquisition brings together BroadStream’s proven broadcast products with Planetcast’s services and global infrastructure to support customers across more of the content lifecycle. The combination creates new opportunities to connect these capabilities across content preparation, playout, localization, streaming and distribution, while giving customers the flexibility to build solutions around their specific operations and growth plans.”

David Bowes, CEO of BroadStream, will lead Planetcast’s new Products Division. In this role, he will oversee the division’s product strategy, development and go-to-market execution, with a focus on supporting BroadStream customers and partners through the transition.

“BroadStream has always focused on where our customers want to go next and how we can help them get there,” said David Bowes, CEO, BroadStream. “Joining Planetcast gives us a much broader portfolio, greater global reach and access to new resources. Together, we can build on the relationships and solutions we’ve established with our customers, introduce additional capabilities as their needs evolve and bring that same approach to new customers and markets around the world.”

BroadStream will form the foundation of Planetcast’s new Products Division, bringing its OASYS Integrated Playout platform and a broader portfolio spanning playout, time delay, captioning, subtitling and accessibility workflows. The division will combine BroadStream’s product expertise with Planetcast’s global infrastructure, media services capabilities and market reach to support product development, expand global availability and bring media technology products to market.
